COMAH Approved Storage

Stobart has extensive specialist storage capacity for items covered under the ‘Agreement on Dangerous Goods by Road’ (ADR) and ‘Control of Major Accidents and Hazards’ (COMAH) regulations.

Following a major investment programme, Stobart’s DIRFT Unit A offers one of the safest operations for the storage and distribution of aerosol products in the UK. Few warehouses achieve top tier COMAH status, which is for hazardous stored volumes totalling in excess of 50 tonnes. DIRFT A, which can hold up to 5,000 pallets, is already approved to maximum top tier accreditation.

The approved area, which is enclosed by a high security cage, is operated by highly trained personnel using non-sparking forklifts fitted with gas sniffers that shut down the engine if any leak from the storage area is detected. These features are augmented by specialist lighting with heat resistant, intrinsically safe wiring and enhanced site security, access controls and fire alarm systems.

Co-Packing Services

Going beyond the traditional distribution and warehousing services, Eddie Stobart offers a fully integrated, value-adding product integration service, usually termed ‘Contract’ or ‘Co-Packing’. The Company provides a broad spectrum of packing services ranging from repacking, relabelling, restacking, mixing and sorting, through to combining, sleeving and labelling.

Production Management

Stobart’s Production Management services combine upstream product involvement with downstream planning advantages, in a service that can be tailored to suit the specific needs of customers. Embedded personnel are directly involved in ensuring the smooth running of every stage of production; from manufacturing right through to product dispatch.

A number of key clients already use embedded Stobart staff to maintain the smooth operation of their production and storage facilities. This allows them to concentrate on their core activities by giving responsibility to Stobart for the complex logistics associated with large scale industrial sites.
