Biomass Logistics

Stobart Biomass’ logistics are managed by Eddie Stobart; the iconic name in haulage that’s the UK’s leading name in logistics. Eddie Stobart is a business with an unrivalled reputation for delivery reliability, efficiency, and, through a series of groundbreaking initiatives, environmental responsibility.
Stobart Biomass collections and deliveries are made using the specialist ‘Walking Floor’ and ‘Chipliner’ trailers of Eddie Stobart and AW Jenkinson; the team operate as a single unit with a combined fleet of more than 2,500 vehicles; the vast majority of which meet stringent Euro 4 and Euro 5 environmental standards. Both operations use the latest satellite planning and in-cab route
and manifest technology to provide real-time load status information; are responsible for thousands of vehicle movements a day.

Biomass by Road

Most transport work is covered by ‘Walking Floors’ and ‘Chipliners’, but the operation also includes a variety of specialist log trailers, and tippers, including special short wheelbase vehicles for awkward access sites.

Walking floor trailers are solid sided units which utilise a series of contra-sliding floor planks to unload material. The ability to unload without the need for a tipping trailer is ideal for the frequently confined, low-roofed storage buildings used to ensure material retains its optimum moisture content. Chipliners are roof-loaded trailers with flexible sides that significantly increase carrying volume.

Working in many of the more inaccessible areas of the UK and during some of the most challenging weather conditions, Stobart Biomass ensures reliability of delivery.
