Charitable giving and sponsorship

Annually Stobart Group provides support to a large number of charities, fund-raisers and good causes. On a daily basis Stobart receives many requests for sponsorship, transport, vehicle, monetary and raffle prize donations from equally deserving causes but unfortunately we cannot offer help to all. Below are some of the guidelines that we follow.

Charity of the year

A key focus for charitable giving is the support we give to our charity of the year. Each year we enter into a partnership to support a chosen charity.

Cancer Research UK is Stobart Group's chosen charity for 2010/2011.

To be considered as Stobart charity of the year please submit a short written application to the address below. Proposals will be considered during the latter part of each year.

Sponsorship and donation

Stobart Group prefers to support local community groups and charitable activity. As a result of the Group having a number of depots across the UK and Ireland, we choose to do this by supporting charities via our employees. This also encourages employees to become involved in local charities and their community.

As a result this means that we do not regularly support the following:

• requests from external parties
• funding for overseas visits or trips
• funding for arts/media projects e.g. student films, exhibitions etc
• projects that only benefit one person
