The Academy

In March 2011, Eddie Stobart opened its Training Academy in Widnes, Cheshire. This facility is dedicated to the recruitment and training of employees within the business.

The purpose-built facility includes all the equipment and resources required to train our employees to be first class, professional drivers including our indoor practical training area for hands-on experience with our actual units, trailers and in-cab technology.

The site also has three multi-purpose training rooms for employee development courses. One of these rooms is a fully equipped IT training room to cater for Microsoft and PC training as well as system training on our in-house planning software.

All new employees attend a company induction at the Academy which focuses on welcoming new employees to the business and talking about what it means to be a member of the Stobart Group team.
