History
Founded in 1993 by Andrew Tinkler, Stobart Rail formerly WA Developments, has been built upon a special understanding of the demands of the rail civil engineering industry.
Today, Stobart Rail is one of the most respected organisations in the industry yet the company remains vigilant of the need to meet and respond to the challenges of an ever changing environment.
Stobart Rail's investment in a large fleet of road rail vehicles (RRVs) and an innovative approach to projects, when combined with a highly skilled and well motivated workforce, has proven to be an unbeatable combination.
Stobart Rail offers a complete package encompassing structures, earthworks, lineside infrastructure, geotechnical, drainage and permanent way works.
Unlike many counterparts in the rail industry, Stobart Rail undertakes the majority of projects under its own Railway Safety Case (RSC). The company obtained its RSC in 1999 which enables it to operate rail mounted plant independently of the third parties that it previously had to rely on to provide the on-site control of its RRVs. In December 2003, Stobart Rail was awarded its Contractors Assurance Case (CAC), enabling it to work directly for Network Rail.
Stobart Rails unique approach to project delivery, extensive experience and the ability to train its workforce to a high level helps ensure the smooth completion of the most complex projects.
