Stobart Developments is responsible for the development and improvement of Stobart Group’s extensive property holdings.

The division undertakes regeneration works to industrial sites and major civil engineering projects as well as warehouse and office construction both for the Stobart Group itself and for third party clients who wish to draw on the wide-ranging expertise and impressive resources of the business.

Stobart Developments also has experience in the delivery of road and rail freight distribution centres, the construction and refurbishment of both ambient and chilled warehousing facilities as well as the construction and refurbishment of rail stations and sidings, truck parks and airport buildings. The business also undertakes a variety of building maintenance, and works extensively on the Stobart Group property portfolio throughout the UK.

Stobart Developments’ work at Widnes

Stobart Developments has been responsible for project management, ground stabilisation and much of the construction at Stobart Group’s massive development currently underway at Widnes, pictured left. The first phase, comprising a new chilled facility and a warehouse, is nearing completion, bringing low-grade brownfield land back into profitable use.

Once completed, the massive new development, clustered around Stobart Port’s inland Mersey Multimodal Gateway railhead and container port, will increase the Company’s total warehousing capacity to over 7 million square feet. Seven facilities will be constructed at this desireable location with direct links to the West Coast Main Line, River Mersey, Manchester Ship Canal and M62 and M56 motorways. Ultimately, most of the energy requirements will be supplied by an on-site bio-mass powerplant, whilst water recycling and a number of other environmentally responsible measures are also being developed.

Stobart Group's Carlisle Airport

Work has now commenced on the development of Stobart Group’s Carlisle Airport which will become the new northern HQ for the Group; and Southend Airport, where an attractive new rail station and airport terminal are to be constructed by Stobart Developments.
