Storage Technology

Founded on the essential principles of adaptability, reliability, security and integrity, the Dynamic Warehouse Management System (DWMS) is an AS400-based warehouse management system, that incorporates Radio Frequency technology and operated using industry-leading hardware from Belgravium and Techlogix.

This multi-client, multi-warehouse system is highly flexible and configurable to individual customer needs. DWMS interfaces with all leading business packages, features controlled access to customers’ own data, and also enables use of any Stobart facility across the UK.

Designed around the stringent requirements of the food industry, DWMS can handle even the most demanding stock routines, with every action tracked through a total audit trail. User actions are recorded and time and date stamped, allowing even the status of single pallets to be viewed remotely by Clients via direct interface, dial-up or the web.

Using DWMS, any facility can be ‘zoned’ within the system itself. Specific product type or category, storage requirements and so-on can be grouped by historical or intended movement; ensuring the most efficient spatial solution is always achieved.

With so much essential information being collected, processed and stored, it is crucial that DWMS is both secure and stable. Stobart maintain a comprehensive disaster recovery plan. Under the programme, the entire contents of the operating AS400 is constantly backed up to a mirror server at a remote location. In the event of any system-led disaster, Stobart can switch seamlessly to the backup machine with no loss of activity OR process data.

Stobart’s DWMS system is well-proven and has been extensively tested and audited to comply with various stringent legislative requirements including SOX and Medical Control Agency Audits with the Medical Healthcare Regulation Agency (MHRA).

The system delivers the traceability and history required to satisfy the most demanding requirements of our customers.

Under constant development and improvement, Stobart has recently introduced RFID technology to DWMS. This key improvement now actually guarantees 100% location accuracy - not merely by stack or pallet, but, where required, to INDIVIDUAL UNIT - setting a WORLD-CLASS standard in storage.
