ADR/COMAH Approved Storage

Stobart has extensive specialist storage capacity for items covered under the ‘Agreement on Dangerous Goods by Road’ (ADR) and ‘Control of Major Accidents and Hazards’ (COMAH) regulations.

Following a major investment programme, Stobart’s DIRFT Unit A offers one of the safest operations for the storage and distribution of aerosol products in the UK.

Few warehouses achieve Top Tier COMAH status, which is for hazardous stored volumes totalling in excess of 200 tonnes. DIRFT A, which can hold up to 3,000 pallets, is already approved to maximum Top Tier accreditation.

The approved area, which is enclosed by a high security cage, is operated by highly trained personnel using non-sparking forklifts fitted with gas sniffers that shut down the engine if any leak from the storage area is detected. These features are augmented by specialist lighting with heat resistant, intrinsically safe wiring and enhanced site security, access controls and fire alarm systems.
