Drawbars

The Company has long maintained a significant number of ‘Drawbars’; often referred to as ‘Drags’ within the industry. The 90 strong fleet of compact, high volume 44 tonne curtainsided units feature a semi-permanent trailer attachment that offers a high cube capability of up to 60 CHEP pallets with a maximum 27.5 tonne payload. This highly manoeuvrable configuration is ideal for low weight, high volume loads and awkward access sites. Drawbars are widely used by the Group for transporting packaging, and have extensive applications on the Crown Packaging account, which is centred on the shipping of empty drinks can packaging from its manufacturing facilities at Carlisle and Leicestershire to brewers and soft drinks manufacturers across the UK.
