Planning And Control

Planning
Eddie Stobart’s highly efficient service is driven by its General Transport System, ‘GTS’. This advanced IT system has been developed over the last two decades to become the leading edge of planning technology.

Planning And Control

Data Input
Data can be input from a wide range of sources, including EDI, email, fax and phone. Vehicle loads are assembled on-system, in resource pools and areas to allow planners maximum flexibility in utilisation.

Planning And Control | Eddie StobartIntegration

GTS is fully integrated with the Company’s satellite tracking systems and in-cab interfaces. The driver uses the in-cab unit to input Proof of Delivery notes (PODs) and pallet data which is relayed instantly to base.

GTS also provides full control of PODs, including scanning and can generate invoices in any format the customer requires. The system is used to feed information directly into the driver’s handset, and in turn uses geofencing to AUTOMATICALLY inform the Planning Team when the vehicle arrives at its destination.

Reporting
The GTS system provides the team with a real time picture of the movements and load status of every vehicle within the Group’s huge fleet. GTS data is displayed on twin screens at every Planning work station, as well as overhead on large screens that are clearly visible from every point in the Planning Department. Information can also be accessed directly by the clients themselves via the web.
