The Stobart Group has a well-established policy of career development at every level within the Company. As a result, much of the Group's own management has risen from within the ranks, having proved their potential and, importantly, gained an exceptional in-depth knowledge of the business.
Developing the full potential of management talent is of great importance to the business. This year around 45% of our managers completed a management development training session, and 95% completed an appraisal workshop. Stobart is also currently working with the University of Cumbria to develop higher education and degree programmes in Transport and Logistics.

The Stobart Driver Handbook
Stobart's Driver Handbook is a controlled document issued to every driver when they join the Group. The regularly updated ring-bound A5 folder is packed with key safety information, details on best practice and location maps and contact details for every location regularly visited by company vehicles.
The package represents a substantial investment in improving Stobart efficiency that must be carried with a driver at all times when on the road; providing an essential reference point that significantly improves efficiency and safety on the road.
